To celebrate the tenth consecutive year of Gunning Patchwork Weekend (GPW), we are planning a retrospective exhibition. The exhibition will feature the work of organisers, participants and tutors from workshops run at GPW over the last decade. Click on the GPW Exhibition page for more info. We would love to see your work from over the years!

A new workshop has also been added - check out the Machine Trapunto page on the right for a one-day workshop with Julie Woods.

Just a few weeks to go…

Can you believe it? Just seven weeks - that is 49 sleeps - till the Ninth Annual Gunning Patchwork Weekend begins. It was nice and frosty here in Gunning this morning - so do remember to rug up and pack woolies.

Robyn Cawdron has some $5/m fabric on special at the moment - drop her an email or come ready to buy at GPW2011. We’ll confirm any other vendors as the time grows nearer.

We will be sending out Requirement lists etc in the next few days so get ready for stash raiding or shopping time. This year’s competition involves making a red and white block - I’ve put a photo of mine below - it needs to be 12.5″ square and can be made using any technique you like.

Last year’s blocks have been painstakingly stitched into a beautiful top which is off to the quilter’s in the next few days.

Limited places remain in some of our classes. Do sign up for both one dayers if you want to learn the new techniques AND stay for the weekend.

Apologies for the web silence, patchworking friends! Rest assured, we ARE having a GPW this year and we DO have some great projects - keep an eye on the site over the next few weeks to see it all take shape.

Can’t believe two days have passed sooo quickly. Another wonderful Gunning Patchwork Weekend has come and gone.

Lovely to see returning faces, new friends and all the regulars.

57 ladies (yes, eight years in and we still haven’t had one male enrol!) braved the cold to make 57 unique celebrations of fabric.

We saw new heirlooms hatch before our eyes. We learnt the word “unsewed”, bound to be useful for those who find the spirit willing and the eyesight weak, and revelled in the fine food prepared by Maree for our lunches, Rhea from the Merino Cafe for our dinner and Pat at the markets for our morning and afternoon teas. Margaret supplied fresh scones for Sunday afternoon tea and the team at the Old Hume Cafe pumped out a good few coffees across the weekend as well.

Yes photos follow, but for now it’s off to bed to dream up more treasures for GPW11.
