GPW & our supporters

Gunning Patchwork Weekend is held each year on the last weekend in June. Timed to break the monotony of the winter, the weekend is also a great opportunity to have a break from the rat race.  A fully self-funding weekend, the GPW is coordinated by three volunteers, Margaret, Marie and Peta.  The GPW brings visitors to town and provides some welcome trade for local businesses and the Lions Club Markets.

Drought has been the backdrop to the GPW each year. Getting off the farm or out of the house to spend time with like-minded stitchers helps alleviate the worry.  For the volunteers who run the weekend it’s a chance to participate in a weekend away - at home!

Attracting internationally renowned tutors each year, the weekend has gone from strength to strength. In 2009 we hope to break the 60 student barrier!

Aimed at beginners and experts alike, the weekend focuses on completion of your project, good food, fun and friendships as well as high quality tutorials. Join us for an opportunity to get away from it all and create a masterpiece.
