Finishing-off day wrap-up
A perfect spring day in a small country town; unfinished business; locals and visitors; business people; like-minded creators, sewing machines and hundreds of metres of glorious fabrics.
The set of The Dressmaker? Not quite. Rather, it was the Gunning Patchwork Weekend Finishing Off Day, held on Sunday the 26th of October in the Gunning Showground Hall.
With lots of space, tables and delicious morning and afternoon teas, participants were able to concentrate on their projects, either finishing them off or moving them closer to a finish.
Janelle Noack from Country Matters Designs gave a demonstration on how to do the quilt-as-you-go joining technique, showed us the intricacies of English paper-piecing and then walked us through a range of her beautiful designs to give us an idea of what she could teach at next year’s GPW. Robyn Cawdron from Robyn’s Plain and Fancy demonstrated how to make continuous bias binding – and showed all gathered how to ensure it’s not a wobbly affair!
Thanks for all those who came along and we hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did. Stay tuned for some photos!
